Being new to San Francisco, and still reveling from the high spirited atmosphere, the Folsom Street Fair was big addition to my outlook on freedom and “wild imagination”. While on one hand leather seemed to be the attire, colors adding to the cheer, uninhibited sexual performers also paraded with a sense of pride. Not everyone in the fair seemed to like to approve of that idea though.

On October 7 2007, Castro was bustling with merry making, music, art and food. The 34th Castro Street Fair had its usual gathering of the colorfully dressed up performers.

The 34th Castro Street Fair was an unique opportunity to meet a cross section of people all dressed up in fancy and in colors. Although leather was probably the preferred material, Castro Street Fair had a huge boutique of charms, bracelets and similar items.

San Francisco street portraits – Folsom Fair

Update: Faces from San Francisco (0607-001) on Photoduniya.com

The recently concluded street fair on Folsom was the 24th of it’s kind. The fanfare had been usual gaiety, drinking and music. It was an unique view of a culture held taboo by so many. The colors, dress ups and the leather all added to the festivities.

Visibly tired after a long day at the parade, this dressed up lady was resting with her friends and took a moment to pose for the camera. Taken on hand held Nikon and fill flash on Lexar pro media card. I shall post several of the images on the Project section of photoduniya. com.
