Motion photography – street candid

Update: San Francisco Street Artists (0507-001) on Photoduniya.com

While following Chen Wei on late Saturday night, and experimenting with a few filters on my digital camera (yes, I use filters on my digital camera), I attempted to capture Chen Wei as he gracefully played the God father on his saxophone. Here is the image as it is originally taken.

San Francisco street candids – Summer of Love

Update: San Francisco Street Artists (0507-001) on Photoduniya.com

While San Francisco is all excited and warmed up to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Summer of Love (1967 – 2007), I caught a glimpse of the mood on the streets of San Francisco near the Union Square.

Summer of Love in San Francisco street candid with Henry

While Henry plays the 70′s music, the listeners caught a moment embracing the past days for a moment.

Photographed on hand held Nikon D200 and Nikon F5 with fill flash. A few of these images will be uploaded on the Projects section of Photoduniya.com.

Street candid – faces in the crowd

Update: Faces from San Francisco (0607-001) on Photoduniya.com

Most of the time it is fun lugging the 10 lbs camera and a 10 lbs bag in the streets. Its funnier when a bunch of guys make it a point that you give them the best shot!

They were skaters, young and enthusiastic. I could not change the settings on my camera quick enough to take a mono chrome, and had to change it in Adobe Photoshop. It is a plain desaturation without any specific changes to RGB channels.

Taken on Nikon D200 with an effective focal length of 600 mm f/8.0 on Lexar CF media.

I have written about Top (popularly known as Top Cat) before. he has been playing the saxophone for over 11 years now and runs teaching classes for kids. That apart, he is a regular player at many of the San Francisco Jazz clubs. Here is an image of Top playing in Geary Street.

The uniqueness of the artists is preserved through their dress. Top regularly appears in his traditional black cap with the impression of a skull, and his black hooded fleece jacket. That apart, what sets him apart in looks, is his goatee and the black pair of sunglasses.

The image was taken with hand held Nikon D200 with 17mm – 35mm f/2.8 lens and fill flash at -1/3.
