New England becomes a wonderland during fall. There are colors everywhere. When the colors from the trees & leaves reflect on the water, they provide great subjects for impressionistic photography.
In early fall the trees the trees slowly start to change the colors. The red is not always red & the brown does not appear to be disturbing. This picture is taken with the Nikon FM3A & is exposed multiple times. The reflection of the trees in the water in front of the trees gave the image the impressionistic look.
The difficult part of the image was to keep the branches appear vertical. I had to shoot from the ground & tried with various lens combinations. This one was shot with a medium lens at about 75 – 90 mm. Any wider & there would be distortion in the branches.
I recommend shooting pine trees for reflections, or any coniferous tree that has more vertical branches. The shape & form comes out nicely even in reflections.
