This colorful picture of Califirnian poppies in the rain is created by sandwiching two images together. One is the image of Californian poppies in bright sun while the other was a stock photograph of rain drops taken at other time.
The stock image of rain was shot through plexiglass & a circular polarizing filter. I shoot stock images very often that I can use later with other images. When creating such stocks I usually over expose the images anywhere from +1 to +3.
When shot with a circular polarizer, a plexiglass image will show different colors around bends due to the stress that builds internally. When the picture of the Poppies & the stock picture was combined, it produced a purple effect that added to the drama in the picture.
