| About the Portraits & People Pictures |
.
.
All monochrome images are shot on two types of films - print films, primarily Kodak Tri-X 400, Kodak 400BWCN and Delta 400, and chrome, primarily Agfa Scala 200. The amazing contrast of Scala and its ability to produce magnificent grains at 1600 ASA makes it a good choice for people, street, low light and fast action photography. SCALA requires proprietary chemicals & it can be processed only by a few labs in the US. I process my work at Duggals’ of New York City. I have also been photographing people, portraits and some documentary with Nikon digital systems.
.
.
Monochrome could also be created electronically by de-saturating the element in Photoshop ™ however, not all images can be created by this method. The essence conveyed by a black and white image depends greatly on the tonal range and much more creative usage of light. I primarily use Adobe softwares & EPSON print gear for most of my digital work.
