Children from the streets of Kolkata are a fascinating subject for candid street photography. This is the pictures of 12 year old Suraj. His parents work at local shops during the day, so for most the time, Suraj spends his time with friends playing in the Ganges.

Seeing the camera & the flash lights on my hand, Suraj took after me. He took me to a small diving section along the Ganges Ghat where he performed entertaining dives into the waters of the Ganges.

This candid street photo was taken by a Nikon D200 in shade with fill flash at about -1 ev. Suraj’s eyes closes when he laughs. It was hard not to notice his happiness.
